Lightning Link was born from a simple mission: to keep businesses connected—even when the unexpected happens.
Our parent company, Scioto Communications, spent years solving some of the toughest networking challenges for industries like hospitality, retail, manufacturing, and property management. Over time, we saw a common problem—businesses losing revenue, productivity, and customer trust when internet connections failed.
So we created Lightning Link: a dedicated brand focused entirely on delivering reliable, scalable, business internet solutions. From day one, our focus has been on speed, uptime, and service that actually answers the phone.

Meet the Founder Who Keeps You Connected
Jim Pack has always been driven by one thing: solving complex problems that keep businesses running.
Right after college, Jim began his career as an Outside Plant Design Engineer for a major telecom contractor, working on some of the very first fiber optic networks.
That early experience with connectivity technology planted the seed for what would later become Lightning Link.
Jim went on to hold senior leadership roles in trucking and logistics, where he led company turnarounds and built successful businesses from the ground up. But his passion for connectivity never went away.
Recognizing how critical reliable internet had become for modern business, he returned to the telecom industry with a renewed focus—this time as a founder.
As President and CEO of Lightning Link, Jim is committed to helping businesses stay connected in a world where downtime simply isn’t an option. Under his leadership, Lightning Link has grown into a trusted provider of internet, failover, guest WiFi, IoT, and POTS replacement solutions for businesses across the U.S.
When he’s not designing connectivity solutions, Jim enjoys spending time with his wife, family, and five grandchildren. He’s also proud of his decades of service in law enforcement since 1987.
